Best Book You’ve Read So Far
Six Of Crows (Leigh Bardugo): This book is not only the best book I’ve read so far this year, but probably also one of the best books I’ve read so far IN MY LIFE. The story is mind-blowing, the characters are so unique, the writing style is not only really touching and melodic but also very different – in a good way – to the writing styles I’m used to and even though it’s written from many different points of view, it never gets boring. Not even for one second. It’s also a book that will surprise you on every page, when you think you know what will happen the book will prove you wrong.
Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far
Crooked Kingdom (by Leigh Bardugo): You should’ve expected this after my last answer 🙂
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To
Lord Of Shadows (by Cassandra Clare): I’m dying to read this book, I just wasn’t in the right mood for it yet.
Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year
The Shaw Confessions: The Becoming of Noah Shaw (by Michelle Hodkin)
Language Of Thorns (by Leigh Bardugo)
Holding Up The Universe (by Jennifer Niven): I fell in love with Jennifer Niven after reading “All The Bright Places” at the beginning of last year and I had really high expectations reading HUTU and it just didn’t live up to them. I don’t think it’s a bad book, it’s just not the right one for me.
Normally I only buy books that I know I will like, so this is hard. But I guess “Anna and the French Kiss” was my biggest suprise this year. I only bought it, because I needed a light read after all the heavy fantasy and contemporary books I’ve read. But it actually turned out amazing and I’m so in love with the story, especially the relationship between Anna and Étienne was great.
Favourite New Author
Leigh Bardugo or Michelle Hodkin: As you can probably tell by my last few posts are the Mara Dyer Chronicles and The Six Of Crows Duology the best books I’ve read this year and I was astonished by both of their writing styles.
Newest Fictional Crush
Étienne St. Clair (Anna and the French Kiss); but I’ll never love any male book character more than Julien Alexandre Du Cranier ♥
Newest Favourite Character
Noah (Mara Dyer Chronicles); Kaz and Inej (Six Of Crows)
Book That Made You Cry
The Last Star (by Rick Yancey): For those of you who’ve read this book, probably know what made me cry so much. I just wanted the end to turn out differently.
Favourite Book to Film Adaptation
I haven’t really seen any good book to film adaptations this year, but the news that The Raven Boys will get a tv series made me extremly happen (of course under the condition that it will be as great as the books)
Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year
Percy Jackson: Greek Heroes (by Rick Riordan): I really love the illustrations in the book and the cover on the front and back is amazing as well ♥
What Book Do You Need to Read by the End of the Year?
Way too many books 😀
